The NSTA have updated the guidance on applications for a Carbon Storage Permit.

The document is primarily intended to assist those involved in the process and content of an application for a Carbon Storage Permit which, if granted, allows the injection of CO2 into a suitable underground geological formation in the UKCS, subject to the terms of the Carbon Storage Permit.

The Guidance (Guidance on Applications for a Carbon Storage Permit) and supplementary documentation (Guidance on the content of Offshore Carbon Storage Permit Applications) can be viewed here.

This update has added a new Annex A ‘Carbon Storage Permit Operator Guidelines’ which are designed to help companies understand the information that the NSTA will require to consider a Storage Permit Operatorship Application.
