The NSTA has continued its support for the growing carbon storage industry by updating and refining two guidance documents containing advice for permit applicants.
The first document, titled, Overview of the Carbon Storage Permit Application Process, replaces the former Guidance on the Application for a Carbon Storage Permit and provides a high-level description of the progression through the different licence phases up to and including the application for a carbon storage permit.
The second, Detailed Guidance on the Carbon Storage Permit Application Process, replaces the former Guidance on the Content of an Offshore Carbon Storage Permit Application. It is structured by document and provides the detail required at each licence phase from award to permit decision, and shows the linkage and evolution of those documents as the project matures
These latest additions to the NSTA’s suite of information documents follow the publication of three more documents in July which outlined NSTA expectations regarding plans required under a Carbon Dioxide Storage Permit – Storage Site Management Plans (SSMPs), Commissioning Plans, and Metering & Measurement Plans.
