Benchmarking is integral to the asset stewardship process and is helping to drive significant performance improvements in cost, production efficiency, wells and project performance and decommissioning.

The NSTA is committed to improving access to quality data to revitalise exploration of oil and gas across the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). 

In the 2015 and 2016 budget announcement, the NSTA received £20 million of funding from HM Treasury to support the acquisition and processing of new 2D seismic data in some of the underexplored areas of the UKCS. 

A company that is party to a licence may wish to sell its interest, or a part of it, to another company. It requires the NSTA ’s prior consent to do so.

The licensee must provide the NSTA with any information that they may ask for and the NSTA require copies of data acquired.
