Energy transition

The Flotta Hydrogen Hub project has the potential to establish up to 1.5GW of electrolyser capacity producing over 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

The technical concept is well developed and the partners continue to monitor the evolution of the hydrogen business environment, with a view to progressing the project technical scope when conditions allow.

Flotta benefits from an existing skilled workforce and has access to a deep natural harbour, providing possible export opportunities for hydrogen. There is potential to develop an ultra-deepwater quay with depths to 20 metres on Flotta, with potential to offer flexible space in support of offshore wind activities.
