Licensees must notify the NSTA of attainment of actual (or change to planned) Cessation of Production date.
Once production has permanently ceased and all wells have been shut in, the licensee must notify the NSTA of the date on which this occurred by email to copnotification@nstauthority.co.uk. The notification must be issued within 14 days of Cessation of Production (CoP).
The notification should also include the licensee’s written consent for the NSTA to share this information with HMRC, should HMRC request it for the purposes of processing a claim for Transferable Tax History.
The licensee must also notify the NSTA by email to copnotification@nstauthority.co.uk where planned CoP dates differ materially (by ± three months or more and the alternative date is confirmed) from those reported in the most recent UKCS Asset Stewardship Survey. The notification should include the revised planned CoP date, the reason for the change, and a statement confirming all relevant licensees’ agreement to the revised date.
